NEW Employment Opportunity Parts Technician – Journeyman Department: MFM Fleet maintenance Reports to: Shop Manager Location: Fort McMurray Town Office Purpose & Key Accountabilities: manage and dispense parts inventories, responsible for stock handling, identifying and cataloguing parts and assemblies, ordering, receiving, inspecting, sorting, & inputting parts into work-orders. Duties & Responsibilities • Interpret work orders and technical manuals • Excellent customer service skills; working with internal and external customers • Excellent computer skills utilizing MS Office Suite; ability to learn and utilize electronic parts catalogues. • Ability to manage multiple priorities using good organizational and time management skills. • Sourcing parts, preparing documentation and work orders, receiving goods using electronic systems • Input supplies and parts into work-orders • Order parts and keep inventories • Receive supplies and store them according to a pre-arranged system • Organize and ship exchange parts and returns • Keep price lists and catalogues updated • Prepare, generate and pick orders • Pack and ship orders • Receive shipments and ensure they are complete and in good order • Process orders, product returns and the return of products to suppliers • Control and manage stocking and storage to prevent loss • Calculate transportation costs and prepare transportation documents • Use electronic material identification tools to schedule items for delivery and co-ordinate the delivery of products to end users • Maintain material identification records • Operate material handling equipment (dollies, hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, cranes, conveyers) • Use storage systems to handle and store products • Other duties as assigned and as may be amended from time to time to meet company/organizational objectives. • Working Conditions The working environment is a construction or industrial sites, sometimes outdoors in all types of weather conditions. Camp provided. Qualifications Experience: • Previous heavy duty, automotive or industrial experience • Front counter order desk experience • 2+ years journeyman parts tech • Experience with heavy/light vehicles and servicing support equipment, an asset Education: • Parts Technician Certification • A valid Driver’s license and clear Driver’s abstract • First Aid Certification • CSTS & OSSA tickets required Competencies Essential: • Basic math skills • Physical strength and stamina • Ability to pay careful attention to details such as parts catalogues and electronic inventory systems. • Mechanical ability and an interest in all types of parts for machinery and engines, electronics and precision equipment • Ability to think logically • 2+ years experience in an truck/automotive service shop • Attendance/Punctuality: Excellent attendance is a must.
