NEWCASTLE BANK ROBBERY - MAN CHARGED Police have charged a 31-year-old man with robbery after an incident at the Co-operative Bank on High Street, Newcastle. At approximately 3.05pm on Thursday 17 October it was reported that a man had been into the bank demanding money and threatening staff. He left with a quantity of cash. Following a detailed investigation detectives arrested 31-year-old Adam Jones on Saturday (19 October), of no fixed abode but from the Kidsgrove area. He has been charged with robbery and possession of cocaine and is due to appear before magistrates in Newcastle today (Monday 21 October).
