NF Awareness Month - Day 13 - 2014 At its worst, this is what the meningioma (NF2 tumor) did to Connors eye. He was in constant pain. We tried pain relievers of all sorts and talked to many doctors but, in the end the only solution was to remove his eye. As they took Connor, crying & begging not to go, into surgery, we still werent sure we were doing the right thing. We prayed & prayed but, still werent sure. We will never forget that drive down to MD Anderson or that day. As we waited for Connor to wake up, we prayed how to talk to him. We begged God for mercy and for our child to understand how much we love him. When Connor woke, I explained to him that his eye had been removed. He turned to me and said I never knew it could feel so good to have that eye out. God had answered our prayers. We trusted & He made good on his promises. Connor was no longer in excruciating pain. NF places us in spots we could never imagine & puts us in places of great pain and great joy. As we travel this journey beside our son, we know that we must find a cure. We must continue to push forward until this horrible disease is eradicated. The God of Angel Armies is by our side! #nevergiveup #endNF visit texasnf.org OR ctf.org for more information on NF & how you can help
