The recent indictment of football player Adrien Peterson for whooping his son with a switch and getting charged with child abuse, has raised the question of how much is excessive when it comes to disciplining our children. This story brought me to my childhood. Let me make this crystal clear. I am not condoning child abuse in any shape, form or fashion. And Im not saying harm children. But come on, lets be real! Some of these South Park wannabees need a good @$$ whooping! Do the names Kunta Kinte and Chicken George ring a bell? If it kept them and the rest of Alex Haleys family in line, then I say why break with tradition? On a personal note, Ive been whooped with a belt, switches, a wooden spoon and a cactus! And look how I turned out! You dont see me out here in these streets doing whatever! Ever heard the saying, An apple a day, keeps the doctor away? Well I believe a whooping a day keeps the trouble away!!
