And if the Barbados Union of Teachers (BUT) does not get satisfactory solutions to mounting grouses, members at Parkinson Memorial will not be reporting for work on September 8 under principal Jeff Broomes. In what appears to be a carbon copy of the ten years of protracted differences at the Alexandra School between the Barbados Secondary Teachers’ Union (BSTU) and Broomes, the then principal, who was transferred to Parkinson in January 2013 in a system-wide shake-up intended to address some of the issues, teachers at Parkinson have been logging similar complaints against Broomes shortly after his arrival. They have brought in the BUT to help mitigate and seek the intervention of the Ministry of Education.
