NO TO POVERTY! Poverty can be classified into three different categories: 1. Oppression and Fraud (James 2:5-6) 2. Misfortune, persecution, or judgment (Deut. 28:47-48) 3. Laziness or neglect (Prov.10:4) Today, Im focusing on the third point Laziness or neglect. I have come to realize that in most cases, laziness and inability to have constructive thinking is the major problem most christians have. A major reason why they remain poor. We most times want a miracle out of the blue, my dear brothers and sisters, it doesnt work that way always. The Bible says we are to be witnesses in all the earth. Its very important that we not only tell people about Jesus but also live in a way that testifies of His goodness. Then the LORD your God will prosper you abundantly in all the work of your hand. (Deut.30:9). God cannot prosper an idle hand. It is when you work that God can bless you. Dont be lazy! A person that is looking for job who spends all his days praying without sending out a single application will remain jobless. Send out your applications and back it up with prayers. Also, carefully and prayerfully look inward to see what you can do on your own. Think and look deeply! You have a gift that can make room for you. You can also acquire skills if you dont have any, you can add to the one(s) you have too. Faith without work is dead just like the Bible says in James 2:14-26. For example, by faith we believe well wake up to see another day but that does not mean we will expect a wind to blow or carry us from our bed to go about our daily activities. A lazy person who sleeps too much or loves pleasure has embraced poverty. He/ she that loves pleasure is dead (poor) while he/she lives. Theres a stipulated time to sleep and to work. If sleeping outweighs working, poverty isnt far from reach. Do you lack wisdom to succeed in your work or business? James 1:5: If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. Ask Him to give you ideas, an idea that will stand you out in the society. Hes able to do so only if you exercise your faith in Him and also sit down to have a constructive thinking. Trust me, He who is able to give you idea(s), is able to raise fund for the implementation but all this will not happen if you dont make the move. Work! Dont be negligent. Poverty is not Gods desire for any of His children. Work. Pray. Learn. Equip yourself and discover your innate potentials. Confession: I am wise Prayer: Lord I receive the wisdom and power to make me wealthy.
