NOBODY CARES …no one cares for my soul. ---Psalm 142:4 Day after day he sought to be faithful at his job. He did the best he could over the years or at least he tried to. That does not mean that he did not have down days or days where things just did not seem to go well or days where he seemed to be at a loss or days where he just didn’t feel well. Everyone has those days, but he sought to be a faithful employee through it all even when, after all those years, a good portion of his life, he did not receive hardly any recognition for his efforts. Retirement was just weeks away when he receive the letter. A special recognition ceremony was being set up especially for him and the time was given for him to be there… A person can feel like no one really cares for them. What a sad place to be! How many people have committed suicide because of thinking this way? It does not have to be even close to being that way, but wrong thinking patterns only have to perceive it which can lead to devastating consequences. As a follower of Jesus Christ I am so glad to know what His Word says. If ever I am having a “pity party” and I am the only one invited, I just have to remind myself of the One who loves me dearly and has said, “I am with you always, to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20) and “I will never leave you or forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5). If I ever am at a point where I am thinking that no one really cares about me, then I only need to reflect on these verses and they bring great comfort and encouragement. Many times when we think that “no one cares for my soul” it is because of the immediate circumstances surrounding us or that we have allowed our minds go in a direction it should not be going. Satan will seek to use these times to discourage us, but why be discouraged when the Lord has said, “No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. JUST AS I WAS WITH MOSES, SO I WILL BE WITH YOU. I WILL NOT LEAVE YOU OR FORSAKE YOU. BE STRONG AND COURAGEOUS, for you shall cause this people to inherit the land that I swore to their fathers to give them. ONLY BE STRONG AND VERY COURAGEOUS, being careful to do according to all the law that Moses my servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? BE STRONG AND COURAGEOUS. DO NOT BE FRIGHTENED, AND DO NOT BE DISMAYED, FOR THE LORD YOUR GOD IS WITH YOU WHEREVER YOU GO.” Dear Father, I need not be discouraged, but courageous because You will NEVER leave me, You care for me, you recognize me and that is what truly matters. Please help me to be an encouragement to others who may feel like no one cares about them.
