Nadine Gordimer, Chinua Achebe and Maya Angelou their deaths have to be clustered together in one “run” period. Because they lived in the same unified field of divine refulgence with the same existential mandate: to sing the songs of the rich African heritage. And now that their mandate is fulfilled they go to the source as happy beings. So it is not an accident that these great geniuses passes on from this visible world at the same run of time. Their deaths clustered together this way, is not accident but coincidence. In mathematics, two angles that are said to coincide fit together perfectly. The word coincidence does not describe chance, accident or mistakes. It describes that which fits together perfectly. Nadine Gordimer lifted the hearts of the downtrodden Africans in South Africa. Her work helped break the silence about the struggles and tragedies of South Africa under apartheid. Maya Angelo wrote about birds that stalk down their narrow cage and can seldom see through their bars of rage, as their wings are clipped and their feet are tied. Chinua Achebe wrote about things falling apart in Africa because of the mayhem of oppressors. Chinua Achebe in one swoop told old Europe to go stick their colonial, supremacist hangovers where it belongs; namely in the trashcans of irrationality, because African reality does not justify their racisms and savage conclusions about a continent they study through their goggles of greed. These three geniuses challenged the unjust, hypocritical structures of their day. They wrote about the treason felony committed on African people. The more time they spent on our horizon, the more they exposed collective cottage industries of oppressors among Africans. They continued to soar, refusing to succumb to mercenary profanities of domination. They saw one human race as one brotherhood and sisterhood not enemies sitting on the simmering fences of division perpetrated by consolidated ignorance and fear.
