Navy Records Society AGM Yesterday the NRS held its AGM and we - TopicsExpress

Navy Records Society AGM Yesterday the NRS held its AGM and we are delighted to report that the Society is in excellent health. Our membership is growing and we have been generating a great deal of interest through our new online publication site, navyrecordsonline.co.uk so thank you very much to everyone who follows us on Twitter, Facebook or is brilliant enough to have become a member of Navy Records Online. We would not exist if it was not for our membership. The NRS editor outlined at the meeting the major forthcoming publications which showcase a wide variety of outstanding naval scholarship. The Elizabethan scholars Charles Knighton and David Loades will, this year, be publishing a work on Elizabethan Naval Administration; the early twentieth-century historian Matthew Seligman will be publishing a volume on the Anglo-German naval arms race that will coincide with centenary celebrations of World War 1 in August 2014. Thereafter we have some fourteen typescripts in preparation including works on Admiral Milne in the 1860s, the Fleet Air Arm in WW2, Admiral Philip Durham, the Mediterranean Fleet between the two wars and a new Naval Miscellany. All members of the Navy Records Society will, of course, receive their volumes for free.
