The C++ Developer (Software Engineer) will be required to perform component development and maintenance of core server applications developed in C++, which are a key shared component across all of the companies trading products. As such, they are required to be high-performing and stable. Role and Responsibilities: *High quality software development. *Working with the product team and other stakeholders to gain an understanding of the post trade business. *Occasionally documenting requirements and producing customer facing development documentation, e.g. API or message specifications. *Ensuring that the development process is adhered to. *Producing design specifications and development estimates. *Monitoring personal progress and reporting of same to management. *Ensuring that Configuration Management processes and procedures are adhered to. *Ensuring that any 3rd-level support responsibilities are carried out effectively and in a timely manner. Skills and Experience: *Good experience of high performance server development using C++. *Database application design. *Excellent academic record. *Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. *Strong track record in the delivery of software based solutions. *Strong understanding of software systems, development issues, methodologies, and processes within a professional software development practice. *Strong ongoing technical/development. *Strong understanding and competence with software configuration management systems. *Strong analytical skills, e.g. can investigate problems with little initial information *Oracle knowledge (DDL, DML, RAC, AQ, etc.). *Glassfish application server, Apache, WebSphere MQ, JMS, MQ. *FIX protocol, FpML and XML. *Digital Certificates. *Groovy, Jenkins, Subversion, GIT, Cucumber. *Java technology. *Solaris, Linux. *An understanding of agile development methodologies. *Educated to degree level or evidence of an equivalent level of technical competence.
