New York City is one of those places either in decline or in ascendance. Either way the constant is flux and if you are gone too long; it, like a lover you havent seen in too long, has changed, matured, grown and decayed. You recognize the landmarks and perhaps a scar or two, but there is a difference in her familiarity. And she is again mysterious and foreign if not quite elemental in her novelty. And as you walk her streets you realize you have changed more than she and you would be as foreign to your old self as your old self is to you. Happy Thanksgiving.
