News Release FIFA Team Pleased with the Progress of the Association Thursday 25th September, 2014, ST. GEORGES: FIFA Regional Developmental Officer pleased with the progress made by the Grenada Football Association so far. Mr. Howard Mc Intosh accompanied by FIFA Consultant, Kevan Pipe, on a two- day fact finding mission which ended on Wednesday 24th September, 2014, commended the Association for the progress it has made since the last assessment conducted in November 2013. Speaking on the GFAs weekly half hour television program on Community Channel 6 Half Time, Mc Intosh noting that the program itself is evidence of the progressive development made so far within the Association. Also adding words of commendation to the positive changes within the Association, FIFA consultant Kevan Pipe said football has grown over the past few months. The pace of change in the last 12 months has been remarkable, Pipe said. Speaking to Grenadas history of exceeding expectations, Pipe described the Association and its main players as always punching above their weight, referring to the national team reaching the Gold Cup on two occasions despite Grenadas size compared to bigger nations. While in Grenada the FIFA team held meetings with several stakeholders including the newly appointed General Secretary Mr. Ambrose Phillip, the Executive Committee, the Honourable Minister of Sports, several committees of the Association along with the Project Manager, Mr. Cecil Fredrick, for the Associations Gold and Special projects. One of the key areas addressed during the two day visit was the launching, developing and maintaining of revenue generating activities within the Association. In light of this, Mc Intosh said he is excited and anxiously awaits the realization of the many plans in the pipeline aimed at making the Association more viable. Attributing some of recent successes to the excellent relationships which now exist between FIFA, the GFA and Government, Mc Intosh expressed thanks to all the people who support the Game and have over the years given their time, skills and expertise in ensuring Association football grows.
