Next term I am teaching a class through the Fenzi Dog Sports Academy on Scent Theory and Dynamics. As I travel I am having a lot of fun getting ready for this class. Everything I learned about how scent behaves was taught to me by dogs so it only seems appropriate that the dogs do the teaching, along with some dry ice for visual effect! In the class the working students will set up simple search problems, either detection or tracking, and they will then try to explain the dogs behavior based on conditions such a wind, humidity, nearby obstacles etc. Here is Steel demonstrating a problem where scent is flowing down an overhang, traveling a short distance and then falling. https://youtube/watch?v=dLe45O2GwAs
