Nicholas is doing so much better! His mucositis has improved much! His lips are now flexible enough to use a straw! I never thought I would be excited about using a straw, but I am now! He is still neutropenic, but God is good and Nick is climbing out of the cellar. He had another blood transfusion today and an additional 3 bonus hours of IV fluid (in addition to the 250ml he gets every morning at proton while sedated). Even though he CAN drink, he doesnt WANT to drink. We also met with an endocrinologist today that basically said the radiation is hitting him above his thyroid and below the pituitary - so, from a hormonal standpoint, Nicholas is okay!!! It was a long, but GOOD day! One week from today and we will be home!!!!!
