Nigeria Muslims will join their counterparts across the globe to celebrate the Eid-el-Kabir festival on October 15. This was announced by the Sultan of Sokoto and head of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Sa’ad Abubakar. The climbing of Mount Arafat by Muslims on holy pilgrimage to Mecca will take place of October 14 with the Eid festival coming up a day later. The federal government is expected to announce Tuesday, October 15, and either the preceding day or the day after the festival as public holidays. -PREMIUM TIMES
