... No officer I didnt realize I was going that fast until I saw your lights ... It was a nice summer day, and the car was running smoothly, I was in no hurry, relaxed, happy and an almost empty road ... sure enough 75 miles per hour. It just sort of sneaks up on me. Well the same thing seems to be happening with my free motion machine quilting ... I get into the rhythm and before I know it I am whizzing along too fast. It just sneaks up on me ... before I know it I am making too short of stitches and my curves are going the wrong direction. Modern machines have a speed control, I assume that prevents this sort of thing from happening. Unfortunately I dont have that modern of a machine. Well here is the question: Is there some kind of poor mans speed control device ... or is it just a matter of training oneself to not have a lead foot? It has taken me years to be careful when driving the car (and even now I have to watch myself). Any suggestions will be appreciated.
