Nominations for the Arts in the Community Awards Arts Wisconsin is partnering with the League of Wisconsin Municipalities for the fifth annual Arts in the Community Awards, which honor Wisconsin communities, local elected officials, and community leaders for their involvement with innovative arts, arts education, and creative economy projects. Arts Wisconsin is an independent statewide membership organization that advocates for the arts. The League of Wisconsin Municipalities is a nonpartisan, nonprofit association of cities and villages that helps provide informational resources to Wisconsin municipalities. These organizations are currently seeking nominations for communities that have worked on arts projects that exemplify an ongoing commitment to the arts. The projects should have broad and diverse community support and recognize the importance of the arts and their impact to a community’s economic, educational, and civic vitality. The deadline for nominations is 5:00 PM on Monday, August 19, 2013. Nominations should be submitted by email to [email protected]. Arts Wisconsin will announce award winners the week of September 2, 2013.
