Not only is NATO obsolete, as the attached article points out, but its continual existence is counterproductive. As it obligates us to continue to divert scarce military resource to Europe instead of the Asia Pacific theater and antagonizes a necessary potential regional ally of Russia. NATO should be dismantled and those countries that are serious about the continued defense of the free world be integrated into new global alliance with our Pacific allies to contain China. Our European allies should not shrug at the political and financial costs, which taking a firm stance against China will entail. Don’t fool yourselves the PRC is just as much of a threat to freedom and democracy in the 21st century as Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union were in the 20th.
