I have just gotten into it myself, and after a few hours on Google, Ive found that while the free programs work for most games (Shadowplay, OBS etc) there was always a few games that would just not be able to hook on. anyway I found X-split Gamecater. and I could not be happier. Hooks onto all my games, yes even RUST, stream quality is ridiculously good, and the best part is the interface. Soooooo easy to use. Go in game, hit Ctrl-Tab and your hud pops right up, you can start pause or stop your stream, adjust volumes, even see your Twitch chat right on your game screen! anyway I guess I sound like a commercial LOL So heres the grab....not free, costs 6 bucks a month that you pay in 3 month increments.
