Nova Southeastern University (NSU) achieved a major milestone in 2014: 50 years of providing academic excellence and innovation to students throughout Florida, the nation and the world. Since its establishment in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1964, NSU has grown from an initial student body of 17 graduate students to the 9th largest private not-for-profit university in the nation serving 27,000 undergraduate, first professional and post graduate students. The university’s alumni base is 162,000 strong and growing by more than 7,000 each year. . Hispanic Unity of Florida (HUF) has been a long-time community partner with NSU and we have mutually benefited from the relationship. But the most benefited have been the 20,000+ annual clients served by Hispanic Unity. Our joint projects have included a Dental Clinic, work with our senior activity center, diabetes research with the Pharmacy School, immunization drives and health fairs. This year, HUF and NSU have partnered to bring to life STEM careers to Miramar High School students whom we serve through our Unity 4Teens Youth Development program.
