November Meeting: When: Saturday, November 9, 2013 Where: The Independence Center - 729 South Tejon Street Colorado Springs, CO 80903 Time: 1 - 3 PM Guest Speaker: Anna Liljestrand. Anna comes to us from the Douglas County School District, and is a Cued Speech Transliterator and NCSA Cued Speech Instructor. Shes going to introduce us to Cued Speech and its benefits for hard of hearing (and deaf) individuals. Youll want to come and find out what this is all about. Other happenings at our November Meeting: First of all, live captioning - CART- provided by Lindsey Nickell. Thank you, Lindsey! Refreshments will be provided. The meeting will start with a brief (10-15 minute) social time. Well be voting for a new Chapter Vice President, to serve through August of 2013. Our nominee is Dianne Reitan. Well also be talking about December, when we traditionally have a pot luck Christmas party instead of our regular meeting. And well also talk about our first meeting of the new year - January, 2014. More good news - for those of you who missed our October meeting, Delaina Massie from the Pikes Peak Library District announced that PPLD has been successful in their quest for a grant. This means that during their remodeling process at the new 21st Century Library, 1175 Chapel Hills Drive, they are planning to install a professional induction loop system. Many thanks to PPLD for going ahead with this, and thanks, also, to our very good friends at Sertoma for all the help they provided to make this a reality.
