Now we have gone STUPID in the other direction: I applaud the teacher for recognizing EVERYONE. Id like to know who the IDIOT (yes, I used the word) and selfish parent that complained was..... Heres the STUPID part: He was REPRIMANDED for placing the other items NEXT TO A CHRISTMAS TREE to represent ALL religions at this time of year, but it wasnt the tree that got him in trouble because, and I quote: The school system does not consider a Christmas tree as a religious reference. (So, just WHAT OTHER RELIGION uses it as a symbol please?????) QUOTES: Andrew Lindauer, an English teacher at Wilson Central, put up a Menorah, as well as signs that said Happy Kwanzaa and May Allah bless your family, by a Christmas tree in a hallway just before the Thanksgiving break without proper permission. Lindauer put up the items to recognize Jewish, Muslim and African-American students at Wilson Central, he said last week.
