Then, they recommend that he stay overnight so they could watch him. Well, thats exactly what they did. They watched him. But when he made complaints to the nurse on duty about tingling and numbness in his fingers, she brushed it off. A little while later, while making her rounds again, the patient told her about worsening complaints of tingling and numbness in his fingers, hand and now arm. Again, she failed to recognize the severity of this neurological emergency and told the patient that his doctors would be in, in the morning on their regular rounds and he could tell them about his concerns. By the time the team made morning rounds, they recognized this was significant. He needed an emergency CAT scan.
