OBSERVATIONAL QUERY Q. Can necrosis cause piles with painful stools? I had Ayurveda treatment( ksharasutra - Binding the piles with thread )for piles and after one month still i have little pain and 2 to 3 drops blood while passing stools.i showed to another Dr and he says there is infection and is necrosis in anus.he has suggested metrogyl400 and Augmentin 625 for 5 days. i am not sure what will happen if really there is necrosis?please advice Possible Explanation could be: 1. The mechanical strangulation [pressure effect] made by kshara on the blood vessels and tissues causes the necrosis of pile mass, which is seen during defecation. [which might be the presentation in your case], so check again with the ksharsutra doctor to confirm your doubts and examination. 2. since kshara acts by invading into the cells of the lesion till the engorged tissue of the mass destruction occurs or up to the removal of the pile masses there may be oozing of blood. 3. do not strain while passing stool, high fibre diet and water intake are two major things to follow. 4. piles is due to low digestive fire and taking amla & aloe vera juice will help in cleansing the liver to speed up the metabolism. 5. Things which you can add to your food diet is/are: elephant yam, papaya, butter milk, pistachio, almonds, pear, apple, old rice, milk, crystallized sugar, raw radish and to avoid are: tea,coffee,garlic, onion,fish, hot spices, sitting for long hours. . oatmeal is good for breakfast.
