OFF TOPIC:IN SEARCH OF PEACE IN THE CITY?Before I was wary of Brahma Kumaris. I thought it was some exotic eastern religion that have practices that would make me stray away from my Catholic faith. Its not a religion and its a good way for people who have very active fertile minds to slow down. Far from making me stray away from my faith, it has reinforced it, it has complemented it. The meditations bring me closer to God. I feel at peace. I make it a point to listen to my meditation cds regularly. My current fave is Impressions of Love which is about meeting God. In Brahma Kumaris Makati, they have free meditation classes and in all the other centers. Every Thursday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Makati Center they have sessions on different topics. I make it a point to attend because here in the busy ways of city life is an oasis of peace. They have other centers in Manila, Quezon City, Tagaytay, Baguio City, Naga City, Legazpi City, Cebu City and Davao del Norte. For some, it may be not a perfect fit, but for some it would be. What we need is an open mind. I understand for once I was unenlightened about BK. I am a seeker. I seek God,peace and some of the kindred souls I have met in the different places I go to. Ive met them at OneCORE, RCW, PICC Feast and also at BK. As the heat of circumstances surround the world, triggering negativity, we are drawn to a place of pure solace within us. We can stay refreshed in that silent space, the souls natural home.
