OK. I have something to say here because this has been bothering me a bit, and Im not the only one. I received a message the other day that upset me. Apparently, someone is calling people from an unblocked number and telling them not to donate to Youngstown Dogs. No reason given. I asked for more info but all they could tell me was that someone that told them got one of these calls along with some other people they knew. Now I dont know if this is true, but with all the drama makers and trouble makers in rescue, I wouldnt be surprised. I know of a couple of very good people that left rescue because they were sick of the drama and the people who would do nothing but sit at computers and bash those people actually doing something. What upsets me is this, if true, is only hurting the dogs. We rescue some of the worst as far as condition. Many that need immediate medical attention. We have spent thousands on vet care, on boarding because no one will open their homes and rescues cant help, not to mention food when we have none for the dogs in our care and those being worked on on the street. Supplies when an unexpected rescue comes (like puppies and we need milk replacement formula and puppy food and pee pads), flea/tick treatment, heartworm preventative....understand when these things arent donated, we have to worry about how we are going to pay and we have all paid out of pocket for things...money we sometimes dont even have! I would like to know who is behind these calls and why. If you have a problem with me or one of my people, dont hide. You come to me. Dont you dare do something that will jeopardize our dogs being helped. How terrible can someone be?? I mean, really?!?! Reminds of one woman who messaged me awhile ago telling me that oh, she was watching me, etc. Then she message me and said that she was so mad at me...how dare I sell puppies I rescued off the street for $300 a piece. HUH?!?! Took me awhile to figure out that she was referring to Faiths litter of 9 puppies that went to rescue. I explained to her that she was very mistaken and I dont know where she got her info and I have never sold a dog. I told her they went to rescue and we have nothing to do with what they charge for an adoption fee nor do we receive any part of it or any payment whatsoever. We vet a good number of the dogs we rescue because they need it. Then when they go to rescue, we dont get any of that money back! It is pretty much a courtesy. Rescue rely on donations and adoption fees to continue to run, so helping with the vetting is a win-win...for the dog and for the rescue. Sometimes it is the difference between a rescue being able to take a dog or not as many have huge outstanding bills and just cant handle another financially. Kind of our way of working together. We very rarely do private adoptions so we dont have adoption fees coming in. I can tell you other stories about what Ive heard about myself, though it hasnt been much. Just funny. I like learning about things I do that arent truth. There is more I would like to address, things I guess people try to make an issue of, but then I know I have people that actually set them straight. If you have any questions at all, you can ask. Or feel free to message me. One more thing....if you have received any of these calls.....PLEASE message me on here. I would like to know. If true, I can almost guess a couple people that might be behind it but I will NOT let someone try to do something to ruin our name or hurt our dogs! I have worked very hard to earn respect and for our group to be known as one that does right by the dogs and the welfare of the dogs we help comes first!! Now that I had to waste time on this that I really dont have to waste...
