ONLY EFFECTIVE USE OF IT CAN REDUCE CRIMES-EXPERT This paper reports that it would be difficult for security agencies to stem the wave of insecurity in the country with the physical combat without involving the use of Information technology (IT) devices. This was disclosed at a meeting organised by National Information Technology Development Agency with the Chief Executive Officers (C.E.O.) of some selected Information Technology (IT) companies in the country in Abuja. An IT expert and the Chief Executive officer of Teledom, Dr. Emmanuel Ekwuem said the insurgents are making waves in the country because the security agencies are still using analogue technology method to arrest the situation. The paper further informs that the Acting Director General of the Agency, Dr. Ashiru Daura during his welcome remark said the objective of the meeting was to ‘see how effective use of IT could be used to boost Nigerian economy.’ Reviewed from Daily Trust October 4th, 2013.
