OPERATOR: PASTEFILL Company Overview Gold Fields Limited is one of the worlds most prominent gold producers, with operating mines in Ghana, Peru, South Africa and Australia. Gold Fields Australia currently has an Operations Support Office in West Perth and operates the St Ives and Agnew mines and is in the process of acquiring the Lawlers, Darlot and Granny Smith mines in Regional Western Australia which cements Gold Fields commitment to the future of Gold Mining in Australia. Role Details Gold Fields Australia is currently seeking an Operator: Pastefill to join their Underground Mining team at Darlot. This role is offered on an 8 days on and 6 days off, and is FIFO from Perth. This is a 12 month fixed term contract. Reporting to the Underground Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing quality and timely paste reticulation services that will assist in development and production to recover targeted ore to ensure operational targets are met in a safe, environmentally compliant and efficient manner. Key Responsibilities will include: * Ensuring that paste walls, paste reticulation, compressed air, ventilation infrastructure, water and dewatering pipe systems are installed on time and according to specifications; * Support the efficient operation of the underground mining systems and processes by providing reliable and accurate operational knowledge to minimise down time and potential loss of production or safety; * Utilising all mobile equipment and tools with care and attention; * Assisting with preventative maintenance on equipment through scheduled inspections, servicing and organising timely repair of operated equipment; * Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping in operated equipment such as the vehicle cabins, crib rooms, throughout workshop and wherever works are carried out to ensure a safe and efficient work environment; * Actively identify and report hazards using the sites hazard reporting system to achieve a zero harm environment. Key factors to your success include; * Having previous experience working in an underground mining environment; * Experience working with steel pipe work is advantageous; * Completion of year 10 education is essential; * Valid WA HR Class Drivers Licence essential * Current Forklift license is desirable * Excellent oral and written communication skills; and, * Senior First Aid is an asset
