OUR PROBLEM IS ATTITUDINAL The provisions of the constitution are made by the legislature and it is the duty of the executive arm of government to execute such laws. The constitution is only a single document which is not humane; meaning that it cannot execute itself. Therefore, the executive arm of government has failed in its task of enforcement. Also, as a result of human factor involving a tendency to disobey rules by even the makers of the law, the executive and the judicial arm (impartiality), the enforcement of the rule is not fully effective. This is perhaps what gives credence to the charge that the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is ineffective and should be amended. Therefore, Nigerians should examine themselves and not blame the constitution which is a non-living entity and resist any attempt to abuse the provisions of the constitution. If everybody in authority especially and those outside authority would but address themselves to the responsibility involved in the idea of the effectiveness of the constitution, Nigeria would be a better nation. We should stop blaming politicians and political parties but change our attitude towards politicians and their wealth, we should question about their wealth, we should stop voting for greed politicians irrespective of their political affiliation. General election in 2015 should be base on performance, antecedence, vision, fear of masses, respect for rule of law and democracy. We need leaders with vision not leaders with religious fanaticism or ethnicity habit or a leader campaigning because of political affiliation with ruling party or using past leaders GOODWILL to campaign for support. Leaders that will not impose friends and families on us. BE WISE IN 2015. MAY GOD HELP US.
