OUR RIGHT IS STOLEN!!! We have lost our right to elect our local leaders. DPR chooses to take our right and making it their right for a number of stupid reasons: 1. It is expensive - STUPID reason The expenses is used for campaign - which is part of the political education and information to public. This is a justified cost, because it ensures that the public understand who are the people running what are their platform and with that knowledge they can use their voice to control the government... also known as... DEMOCRACY!!!! If therere expenses used for money politics, then it would be worse in DPR. You just move the money politics to DPR 2. Indonesian people chooses wrong, better DPR does it - Now DPR assumes people are STUPID First of all people are not stupid, we got the President right. We have people speaking up, we have voluntarism at unprecedented level. But no matter how smart/stupid you think people are. I am 100% sure about one thing: DPR IS MUCH STUPIDER AND IMMORAL - the level of corruption and the level of incompetence in our DPR is so high, I dont see the logic of how DPR is smarter than us. For God sake, Fadli Zons in it!!!! 3. This is what people want, someone even said People WIN, after the voting decided against direct election - STUPID Indonesian Survey Circle showed that 81% of Indonesians prefer direct local election. Our direct local election voters turnout ranges from 51-74%, a high turnout even compare to developed countries with mature democracy. The best local leaders like Jokowi, Ahok, Ridwan kamil, Risma - who are all popular, would not be in their position without direct local election. What can we do??? Lets do something!!! We have fought too far to have a bunch of crooks steal from us - and have the guts to call themselves our representative.
