Ogun resources not yet fully tapped —OPIC 04.Sep.2014 The Ogun State Property and Investment Corporation (OPIC) has stated that the abundant land resources on Ogun State is yet to be fully tapped into, saying it is doing all within its power to drive growth in the state. Making this known on Wednesday in Abeokuta at the corporation’s headquarters in Oke Ilewo was the Managing Director of the corporation and Special Adviser to the Governor of Ogun State on Property matters, Barrister Babajide Odusolu at a press conference and flag-off of design competition as part of activities marking the 30th Anniversary of the corporation. Barrister Odusolu, who said OPIC was set up to drive economic growth of the state and create value, said the corporation had mapped out one month-long events which would allow the corporation to share its success, give back to the society and celebrate past heroes. In its efforts to give back to the society, the corporation, he said, had included design competitions among Engineering, Building and Architecture students of the state-owned institutions of higher learning, commissioning of newly renovated Government Primary School, Igere/Ihunsa , Olawale Otesile Memorial Park, OPIC Agbara roads, Orange Valley Estate, Abeokuta, Borehole at Ibara Police Station, Toilet facilities at Our Ladied Primary School, Ibara as well as flag-off of Alamala Housing Project in the one-month long activities to mark its 30th years of value creation and economic excellence in the state. The MD, who hinted that the corporation had recovered over 200 hectares of land from Omo Onile in the state, said the design competition included in its programme was aimed at bringing the best out of the students being churned out of the states’ higher institutions and encouraging creativities by them.
