Oh! Senator Ben Ayade, What have we Northern Cross Riverians done to you? Are you not a Nigerian? Are you not a cross riverian? What blood runs in your veins? Why are you so different from others? Where have you been since 1999 when democracy came? Should I call him our messiah already? In northern cross river, scholarship was a foreign word we used to hear live on radio and read on papers, but since Sen Ben Ayade came, that foreign word “scholarship” we call it now more often than some words in our native dialect, with over N22m been spent on scholarship yearly. Erosion has dug deep our land because we lack drainages, but now we’re better off it with Sen Ben Ayade constituency projects. We at Yala LGA of cross river state are known for food production through farming, but still Sen Ben Ayade is there to feed the aged ones who can no longer work to make ends meet through Ayade’s Mobile Food Distribution. Ayade solely saved us from inflation of transport prices by public companies when fuel subsidy issue came up, N2500 was charged by public companies from ogoja to calabar but Sen Ben Ayade was there to subsidized transport fare from N2500 to N1500 through Ayade’s motors transport company. He understands our pains, you can’t agree less. A few weeks ago, I came back from school and on getting to Okuku junction in Yala LGA at night, I saw solar poles lighting up everywhere then I asked the bike guy, who gave us solar street lights? He replied me “if nobi Ben Ayade again na who fit do dis kind tin, mak God bless that man abeg”. Seriously, if we have two of Ben Ayade I believe Yala and the whole northern cross river would have been a small London, cross river state would ever been the people’s paradise like our slogan says. Again I asked myself, all this in just 3years? Ayade you did us wrong for been away since 1999 and where have you been? We Yala had our son on that seat for 8yrs but we can only boast of a water bole hole in each political ward, no sentiment but sanity. Just 3yrs in office, Sen Ben Ayade has outdone his predecessors who spent 12yrs combined on that seat. Your predecessors owe us northern cross riverians apologies for wasting our gracious 12yrs on stomach infrastructures, your prodecessors need 12 strokes of cane from each and every northern cross riverians. Voting for Sen Ben Ayade is one of the things I’m proud of in 24yrs on earth, it’s an honor voting for you in 2011 election, Ayade you did us proud, your name is set on stone already, you have written your name on the sand of time, for what you have done for us posterity won’t forget you, I have painted a portrait of you and hung in my bedroom. I didn’t benefit from your scholarship program or mobile food distribution, but never again will I have to walk in the dark at night because we have solar lights on our streets now. Indeed you have given us the dividends of democracy, only you can continue the good work our governor his Excellency Sen Liyel imoke has embarked on in his 7yrs in office, but whichever post you choose to ply your political career I will canvass votes for you with my last strength because I know you will deliver. Mine and several heads in cross river state are bigger than yours but it’s you the big cap fits. God bless you Sen Ben Ayade, Dr mrs Rose oko and his Excellency Sen liyel imoke for all you have done for us in cross river state. Thank you
