Ok. Ive had time to think about this. I usually post results from the various bodybuilding events my team competes in. But you know what....these people are so much more than trophies or placings. Dont get me wrong...we blew the house out again. But I feel like the essence of what we do is being overshadowed by those things. So here is my evaluation of yesterdays World Championships. Im gonna start with a guy who has lost 115 lbs and has shown the heart of a champion. I dont think most people understand the magnitude of what that means. He showed improvement with each of his shows this year. And he has my undying respect and friendship forever. Thank you Jon Manning. Kristin Stymiest has become my apprentice. She is one of the most thoughtful and caring people I have ever met. I watched her take another giant leap in her development by shining on stage during both prejudging and her routine. I cant wait to see what the future brings. Keith Littlefield has overcome severe shyness and has improved exponentially in the last 4 weeks. He put his shyness aside to honor a mentor that he lost to cancer. Dude.........potentially the most noble thing I have ever heard. For those of you that have a fear of public speaking, imagine standing on stage in a speedo in front of 1000 people. Epic!!! Steven Higgins is the epitome of class and grace. He is as positive an influence as he is a fierce competitor. I am honored to be in the same room as this guy. Kaitie McHugh is a breath of fresh air. She has so many goals that just keep falling that its hard to measure yourself against her ambition. And she is cute as a button. Diane Wagar Vadala might be the hardest worker on the planet. This girl is a bulldozer.....crushing everything in her path. Yet she is so unselfish and thoughtful to all team members. Im so happy you now believe in yourself as much as I always have. Emily Whirling has overcome so many obstacles. Her story is filled with so much heartbreak that would destroy a normal person. Not this girl. Not only a warrior but absolutely stunning to the eyes and soul. And Jennie Laurent Wnbf Pro. Wow. Not sure Ive seen anyone climb so far so fast. Thank you for trusting me. I know you had reservations. You clearly have the potential to turn this sport on its ear. And I am gonna sit back, enjoy the ride and say Thats MY girl. You, young lady, are a bona fide SUPERSTAR. So thats what happened yesterday...and oh, btw, we also came home with all kinds of trophies.
