Ok! Nerd time! We received several pictures from you all of an upside down silver tear drop near Trinidad. It was also visible from Westcliffe. Much to the dismay of many, its not a UFO... its a, wait for it, WEATHER BALLOON. You know how I know? You can see the radiosonde hanging from the bottom on a zoomed-in photo! This is the little contraption that makes my world go round - as this thing collects temperature, pressure, humidity and wind readings as it travels up through the atmosphere! This data comes back down to be analyzed as is AND is also plugged into our countless prediction models meteorologists use to make a forecast. Cool, huh? Now, where this particular balloon was launched from is a mystery!
