Ok, as a people we have been preaching - "Caribbean unity, an idea whose time has come and Caribbean leaders have been trying for ages to unite all Caribbean nations but this unity have been evasive time and time again. 3 OBJECTIVES OF CARICOM are (i) more efficient operation of common services and activities for the benefit of its peoples; including education (ii) accelerated promotion of greater understanding among its peoples and the advancement of their social, cultural and technological development; (iii) intensified activities in areas such as health, education, transportation, telecommunications. After being accepted to the University of the West Indies, paying my schools fees and relocating to Barbados with my daughter, I tried to obtain a student visa for her to attend school. I was treated like a criminal and told by the Barbados Immigration Department that as a Student (myself) I cannot apply for a student visa for my 7yr old daughter to reside on island with me and the two options available to me were either to send her back to AXA or I can discontinue my program and return to Anguilla with her, those are my option. I will NOT back down from this one… Those might be the options but not for me.
