Ok church govt type geeks: to what extent do we in the rca even claim to be one? We do not have forms of unity, or standards of unity. We have doctrinal standards, true, but that is not the same as standards of unity, is it? We seek the things that make for unity, but anything else I seek for, I seek for, not because I have it, but because I dont. What other kind of unity us this, then, than a pilgrimage, a destination, but not a possession? Thoughts?
