Ok, here we go again. I didnt think Id be having to answer questions about calling school off on November 16th, before Thanksgiving. I usually dont have to worry about it this early. Heck, its not even winter yet! This front is destined to make me look foolish anyway I go. If I called school off now and it does nothing, (which is a possibility) Im going to look crazy. I do not believe it will do anything until sometime tomorrow around nine or ten in the morning. Thats the problem however. By that time the busses have run, weve cooked the meals, and if it looks like its going to get slick, Im going to have to send everyone home early. The best I can do is get up early check the radar and try to make an intelligent decision at that time. There is one good thing about this year. Everyone should have their Cyber Snow Plan folder at home with them now. If I end up calling school off tomorrow or even up into the day, you (meaning our students) complete Day One of the Cyber Snow Plan and turn it in upon your return, you wont have to make that day up this summer. We are one of only thirteen school districts that have this option. If I have to send you home early the same applies just do the homework and we wont have to make it up. Now I know what your thinking, since we dont have to make it up why dont he just call it off anyway? Well, the answer to that is, we can only use the Cyber Plan if there is actual snow on the ground. Basically, I have to be sure its going to snow. So, let me get up early and check the radar to see if it is still on its predicted path and time schedule then I will make the call. Sorry, its just too early to make it right now. Also, please dont email me one at a time on Facebook and ask me if were going to school because there is no way I have time to answer all of you individually and Im not even going to try. Also, remember my policy. Anytime you the parent think I have made a bad call then keep them home and I will excuse it. I cant possibly drive down every driveway or one lane road to check your conditions. So, sleep tight and Ill wake you up with a school message if we are out. I hope you sleep because its not likely Im going to much.
