Ok so here is where we are. Danny has stage 4 non small cell adenocarcinoma. There is no cure for this cancer. Danny has 3 main issues: the cancer in the right middle lobe of his lung, fluid around his heart, and multiple clots (in the lungs, arm, and leg).All of which are impairing his ability to breathe.The oncologist wants to start chemo ASAP. We are trying to start chemo as early as Saturday. He will have 18 weeks of chemo at least if not more. The oncologist said he was surprised that his PET scan did not show widespread metastasis. This is good news. The doctor feels that once we get the chemo going, the clots should stop happening and the fluid around the heart will stop accumulating (theyve drained over a liter total). Of course his chemo course will depend on his white blood cell count and how well he tolerates it. Danny is still in great spirits and he said hes more than ready to fight!
