Ok , where do I start??? Ill start with the positives... I cant speak for everyone but I thought yesterdays events ran quite smoothly. We will work on having a cordless mike at our next so everyone can hear their names called. Thanks to all who travelled, I wasnt really expecting so many numbers and if we keep getting the numbers for the Steer Wrestling and Calf Roping then we will keep running them. We had a couple more new competitors which we like to see and its great to see that some picked up money...great work! Thanks to everyone who lent a helping hand wether it was taking ropes off, setting barrels and timers, pushing cattle, opening the box, time keeping and pencilling, taking noms, running drinks out to volunteers, driving the bike and water truck, raking the arena, helping me pack up and even picking rubbish up. As you can see there is a lot that goes on at these jackpots and it cant all be done by just 4 people, so once again THANK YOU. I must also thank Jess for her amazing food, I actually got to eat last night and it was worth every dollar if not more. A big thanks must also go out to my husband for his continued support. I think most will know what my negative would be as most of you witnessed my ugly side whilst taking nominations and for this I am sorry. We will be looking at ways to make this task a little easier for whom ever is taking the nominations and any suggestions will be greatly appreciated and considered. Competitors must also get organised and nominate on time or send them through early as suggested 4 days prior to the weekend, thanks to everyone who took advantage of this. At our next meeting (date to follow) we will be discussing the late fees, which states in the rule book on page 9 Any team entering late will be required to pay a $10 late fee. Late fees are un-refundable, even in the event of a draw out. My apologies to the ladies who had to walk a mile to use the toilets, I will make sure I get keys to the toilets that are a little closer next time. All in all a great weekend. Cant wait for Julia Creek :)
