Many people carry with an empty chamber, mostly because they do not train enough to feel comfortable with carrying a loaded gun, then when questioned they almost always assert that, hey the Isrealis carry no round in the chamber. Problem with that is they have never questioned the logic behind why Israeli soldiers carry unchambered. One reason might be an Administrative or Political reason - they have been ordered to carry with no round in the chamber. Its a liability issue, not an issue of practical preparedness. The reason for this mode of carry then would not apply to you as you and I are not operating under the auspices of any governmental organization. So why would you carry a gun without a round in the chamber? The simple answer is that you really arent sure. It might be that you give blind creedence to the concept, and reason that the IsrealisDo it, so it must be a good idea. So you decide to carry a gun with an empty chamber. As if this offers some tactical advantage. Sadly it does not and it will get you killed. Another reason you might carry gun unloaded is because you are afraid of the unknown. You are still insecure in the knowledge of your gun. You simple have no confidence in the tool you chose to use as the means of your defense. You do not train enough and as a result of your lack of training, you do not have the confidence that you firearm will remain safe while holstered, even though while holstered there is nothing that can manipulate your guns the trigger (providing the holster you chose actually covers the trigger. That being said your gun is safe. Until YOU pull the trigger, your gun is always safe, with or without a round in the chamber. Our guns are life saving tools, but only if they are carried in a prepared manner, ready to enter the fight. Carrying a gun without a round in the chamber classifies the carrier as unprepared. AN UNPREPARED fighter usually gives way to a better prepared fighter. Carry your handgun with a round chambered, your gun ready for the fight of your LIFE. Your life depends on it. A second makes all the difference between winning and losing, living or ceasing to live. Choose life, be prepared to defend it.
