Okay – very unique day: Made waffles for the boys, which I seldom do. Made fresh strawberry freezer jam to leave for them while Im going out of town. Did all those things you do to set up the house right before you leave town for a business trip. Arrived in San Francisco, had the most delightful faith-based conversation with the eastern orthodox taxi driver. Checked in at the hotel and took a walk – came across a fire dancer concert. Yes – people dancing with fire. They assured me they had all the right permits from the fire marshal. (No, I did not ask – someone struck up a conversation and make sure I knew the fire marshal was heavily involved.) Rounded out the night with a delicious tour of a local shoe store. Will go back tomorrow. Had a dinner I would never serve my guys – wild mushroom pizza with arugula and truffle oil on thin crispy crust. Toto, I have a feeling we are not in Kansas anymore...
