@ Olusegun Otukomaya, I thank you once again for your comments as well as your concerns for our dear town - Ibeju-Lekki. Im sure you must have gotten enough information from my web page as I referred earlier, and as many people have testified here on this thread, bearing on your requests as regards major infrastructure that I have been able to influence to Ibeju-Lekki since June, 2011 when I assumed office as Senator representing Lagos East in the National Assembly. Concerning the issue of dredging in Ibeju-Lekki which you also raised. I must appreciate you very sincerely for bringing this up! To be sure, you will agree with me that matters relating to dredging and removal of water hyacinths are clearly the responsibility of the Lagos State Government under the Ministries of Environment and Waterfront as well as the Lagos State Inland Waterways. As someone who sounds knowledgeable about the workings of governance in Lagos State, you will also know that one cannot do anything on this issue without passing through these governmental bodies, which I am doing presently. Besides, I understand that our traditional rulers, the youth bodies and other well meaning leaders in Ibeju-Lekki have done a lot concerning this issue and I am reliably informed that the Lagos State Government is looking into the matter. I can only implore that we all join hands in this struggle to ward off the dredgers and other illegal activities in our land to ensure that Ibeju-Lekki and its environs is free from environmental degradation.
