Olympic Weightlifters... If your technique is solid but you cant OHS / FS the weight you can snatch / clean, you need to squat. Lay off the technique work.. weve already established you have that. If you can OHS / FS more than you can snatch / clean, you need to work on pulling more and you under the bar faster. Lay off the heavy squats... they are slow and so are you. Crossfit Wilmington has some very strong Oly lifters. Many folks are very surprised to find out they only Oly lift once, sometimes twice, per week. Take the time to work on things that will actually lead to heavier lifts. Few coaches program bent over rows, chin ups, bench press, pendlay rows, cuban presses and other upper body work. Do you not think the upper body is important for pulling and squatting? How many times have you seen lifters put weight on their shoulders just to dump it forward because their upper torso is caving in. You can do technique work til the cows come home, but it wont make you stronger... accessory work isnt secondary if it is the one thing holding you back from a PR.
