On September 12, 2014 the federal House of Representatives passed the reauthorization of the Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG) that provides child care assistance and child care quality improvement funding. It now goes the Senate. This bill calls for: · Stronger health and safety regulations for licensed, registered and licensed-exempt providers who accept children with child care subsidies; including annual inspections. · More emphasis on technical assistance for child care business practices. · Establishing a 12 month child care assistance eligibility standard · Increased investments for child care quality improvement activities For more information: ececonsortium.org/federal-action-center/federal-legislation/
