On behalf of Vicky Light and we have permission from Vicky Light to post this. This is PRINCE MARIOS who was rescued in Crete (Greece). Daisy Ayla Charlie has a dog with leish. Maybe she can give us information and there is a help group for dogs with Leish as well. PRINCE MARIOS is looking for a forever home. Come people lets try and make it happen for this beauty. He turned up on the East side of Crete hanging around an English ladies house, She immediatly posted him on fb a few weeks ago. She took him to the vets to check him out and of course, no micro chip. They also did a quick snap test for Leishmania which showed up as positive. The lady asked the vet what to do and he said to just PTS. Only because I have had dealings with dogs with Leishmania through my animal rescue work , and seeing them live perfectly healthy , happy lives in their forever homes now, I decided to get involved with Marios. I contacted the lady, and asked if I could send my vet to Marios to take some blood tests to see how far developed Marios Leish actually is. (Something the first vet should have advised Amanda, but bless her, she was not to know that) The bloods came back ... I have seen worse! He has high levels, and because of the leish he has an infection in his muscles & his liver. He is now on medication for this. Our plan is to first get him a bit healthier, and then begin the strong treatment for leishmania. Right now he is on (2 x 300g Zylapour to help with his leishmania & 2 x 125g Silycure which will help get rid of the infection he has in his muscles & liver) Many people would have had a dog like this PTS I know.... But like I said, the only reason I am fighting for him, is because I can see beyond his illness now, and I see a bright & healthy future for this lovely boy. He is not neutered however I can arrange to have this done later once he gets more healthy. Im not sure of his exact age, at a guess looking at his teeth he looks around 2-3years old maximum. He has a lovely gentle nature. My friend Adam who also loves big dogs calls him a soppy bugger! lol Prince Marios
