On logging whole foods.... Everyone who follows this page or works with my training team knows I believe 100% in whole foods. I believe in their power to heal, their power to change your taste buds, their power to end the cycle of food addition, and their power to change your body. Often I hear the argument that if you eat whole foods you dont have to worry about your total daily calorie consumption. Nothing could be farther from the truth. I joke with my clients on calls, do you want my health hat or my fat loss hat?? when they ask me questions about their program. The truth is, calories in verses calories out does matter more than anything else when your goal is fat loss. You can overeat with whole foods just like you can overeat with any kind of food. Too much food is simply too much. The great thing about whole foods (besides the obvious health benefits) is the amount of food you can eat for the same amount of calories. A 1500 calorie diet log filled with whole foods will be packed with nutrient dense, quality nourishment, verses a diet food log filled with nutrient depleted processed foods. I was reviewing a clients food log this morning and showing her just how much MORE food should could have for the same amount of calories if she would just switch over from fast, ready made food, and go with real fresh food. Know your calorie consumption so you can reach your goal. Logging your food is a roadmap to your success, and it is also an education on how YOUR body is best designed to change and develop. No two bodies are every the same. After you have received your education and learned YOUR body you will find in time you know longer need to log because it has become second nature. ~1fw
