On protecting our Nations President. If anyone reading this has paid even a passing glance at some of my posts in this forum, you will know that there are many areas where I disagree with President Obama. Still, he is PRESIDENT Obama, and he MUST receive the highest level of protection that our nation can provide. Recent revelations that a fence jumper became a home invader in the White House; our nations house, are troubling at best, and absolutely horrifying at worst. I dont care if the President and his family were away at the time. I dont care that the intruder was only armed with a knife. What I care about is that he got more than two steps beyond landing on his feet after scaling the compound’s perimeter fence. Im not trying to throw my law enforcement brothers and sisters of the Secret Service under the bus here. However, this does represent a massive failure in an area that falls under their jurisdiction. But that is not the subject of this post. What is at issue here is the level that this breach of security could have reached. Flash back to my paragraph 1. Our President and his family MUST be protected – PERIOD! I dont care who he or she is, his or her party affiliation or policy agenda. He or she is the leader of this Nation, and indeed arguably of the free World. Now flash forward. Had this knucklehead, whose agenda is not clear to me, been able to assassinate our President, the resulting events both here and worldwide could have been catastrophic. If this rogue individual (or member of a group if so revealed) had entered the White House with an explosive device, biological agent or radiological or chemical weapon that proved fatal to our President, the World would quickly become a very different place. A review of current events will show that Putin and his Russia have taken baby steps toward restoring the former Soviet Union. China is reportedly flexing its muscles in Southeast Asia. Iran is arguably only months away from developing a nuclear weapon, and ISIS and its sibling radical Islamic terror organizations are growing and expanding exponentially. Meanwhile, our Nation recently watched weeks of rioting in a St. Louis suburb because a white police officer shot and killed an unarmed Black man who allegedly committed a felony crime then feloniously assaulted the officer, critically injuring the latter. Although there is no evidence that I know of that the officer shot and killed this man because of his race, the narrative has been hijacked to proclaim that this is exactly what happened there. So with that in mind, if some fence jumping home invader had managed to kill President Obama inside the White House, our Nation would be shocked and stunned. If this White knucklehead would have killed our Nation’s first Black President, a segment of our Nation might view it as an act of racism, which it may have been. And a percentage of those might take that belief as justification for rioting, violence and mayhem. Then while our nation is both reeling with grief and disbelief over the assassination of our President, and civil law and order on our streets suffers as a result, what will the hoodlums on the World stage do while most of our Nation is distracted with catastrophic circumstances happening here at home? I may not always agree with President Obamas policies and statements, but he MUST be protected at all costs. And to that end, I would even lay down my life in the course of protecting him if I was called to do so. The fact that a fence jumper made it deep into the White House is extremely troubling and huge, and should not be downplayed or ignored. The consequences of this incident had the potential of shaping world history. I’m glad things worked out here, but this must never happen again.
