On the way to school yesterday, Reagan asked me what it was like - TopicsExpress

On the way to school yesterday, Reagan asked me what it was like to live through September 11, 2001. Like everyone else, I can recall details about that day more than I can recall details from last week. I remember so much from that day thirteen years ago...the sheer horror of watching the second plane crash into the tower on live TV, the tears streaming down my face as people jumped hundreds of stories to their deaths, the sense of helplessness I had as I watched the towers crumble into dust. But what I remember most is that for the first time in my lifetime, we were united. There was no black or white, no Democrat or Republican, no rich or poor. We were one nation under God with a common goal. We grieved as a nation, but we rose up as a nation. I remember how we spoke to each other instead of looking away, and the determination in everyones eyes...it wasnt fear, it was resolve. I pray that it doesnt take another tragedy to unite us that way again...but I fear it will.
