On this Veterans Day, I remember and thank those in my family who served the United States of America in the military. Most saw war at one time or another. A couple of them saw more than one war. All served our country and were ready to defend it if need be. Many of them have gone before us. Some of the younger ones, I am unsure about and would appreciate any of my relatives helping me to complete my list. And I will mention one who, according to officials is not considered a veteran. I disagree with this. I believe anyone who was in the reserves and is at the ready to be called on to serve, if needed, should be recognized as a veteran, as well. So here is my Thank You to my familys (and a couple of friends) veterans: Tony (brother) -- (Navy - Grenada invasion) Nola (cousin) -- (Air Force) John (former brother-in-law) -- (Air Force) Doug (cousin) -- (Navy Reserves) Tim (friend) -- (Navy) Dad (Navy - WWII & Korea - 20 year veteran) Uncle Allen (Navy - ) Uncle Bill (Navy - ) Uncle Henry (Navy - ) Uncle Vincent (Air Force - ) Auntie Edna (Marines - ) Tommy (cousin) -- (Navy - 25 year veteran) Danny (cousin) -- (Air Force - ) Phil (uncle -- Marines ) Paul -- (very good friend who died while still in the Navy)
