On this day 50yrs ago at 1:22am, I was blessed with a big 8lb 3oz baby boy. Everything about him was amazing. When he was 1mo old , he weighed in at 10lbs. He was walking at 6 1/2 mo and fully potty trained at 8mo. He moved so fast. Jumping off porches and trying to play feetball-he couldnt say football. He was 2yrs old playing and ran into a 50 gallon oil can and dented it. No harm to him. Haha he was just all boy. Those are some of the things I hold on to. I miss cooking for the holidays and knowing he would hide his favorite foods from everyone else. My Melvin could eat and it gave me joy cooking for him and his friends. I miss his hugs, I miss his smile, I miss him being silly but most of all I miss hearing him calling me momma. So when I think back on the day of July 16, 1989 a piece of me was left there. He wasnt everyones favorite but he was the love of my life regardless of the life he lived. I thank God for allowing me to be a mother to a beautiful gift that I knew was only lent to me. I see my son in his children and in my grandchildren. So know that when I post pictures or thoughts of him it is only my way of sharing some of the things that has made my journey worth walking. I love all my children but there is nothing like loving a child that is no longer on this earth. I celebrate his life and all that it has meant to me. Mom loves you Melvin..R.I.P Baby..
